One soldier has lost his life, two others have been injured in an explosion of an alleged improvised explosive device planted earlier by members of PKK in Çukurca district of Hakkari province.

One soldier has lost his life, two others have been injured in an explosion of an alleged improvised explosive device planted earlier by members of the Kurdistan Worker’s Party (PKK) in the rural area of Çukurca district in Turkey’s eastern province of Hakkari.

According to a report by Doğan News Agency, the explosion occurred at around 4 a.m. in Çukurca Avuş Tepe region.

The wounded soldiers were sent to Hakkari and an operation has been launched in the region.

5 soldiers had lost their lives yesterday

Also yesterday (May 25), three soldiers and a village guard had lost their lives in Van and as well as one other soldier in Şemdinli district of Hakkari.
