His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, recently took to the skies for an inspection flight in a helicopter – piloting the chopper himself.
According to a video posted on Instagram, Sheikh Hamdan – this time around – wasn’t skydiving over Dubai but instead flew a chopper across the city.
The video shows the Crown Prince taking off from a sea-facing green lawn and flying over Dubai and the man-made islands off the coast.
A graduate of the world-renowned Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst in the UK, the young prince is an adventurous spirit – a regular skydiver, globe-trotter and an avid photographer.
The flight’s purpose could not be confirmed, but it could have been an inspection or surveillance flight, to monitor the city’s changing rhythm as it grapples with the soaring heat.
Earlier this month, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces piloted a helicopter over the country’s mountainous region on a routine inspection flight.
