This was stated at the republican meeting of non-oil exporters in Yevlakh by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.

The head of state said that the non-oil sector of the economy grew by 2.4 percent over the three months of this year: “This is a very good indicator. The non-oil industry of our country grew by 2%, agriculture by 3.5%. Over the three months, more than 80,000 new jobs were created. Our trade turnover increased by 15 and trade exports by about 50 percent, imports decreased by 17 percent. Exports of agricultural products increased by 44 percent. The positive balance of our country exceeds $ 1 billion. During these three months we earned 1 billion dollars. Our foreign exchange reserves are growing. This positive dynamics makes it possible to say that our results will become even better this year. Because the pace we have taken and the wide scope of the reform, including practical support provided by entrepreneurs to our policy, their work and investments, enable to say that 2017 will be very successful. At the same time, having moved to a new economic model, in the future, we will develop our economy only through reforms, innovations, technologies and the non-oil sector. “
