Dubai Ambulance Corporation aims to reduce emergency response times by adding rescue vehicles to its fleet that can achieve a speed of 300kph.
The corporation has added five more vehicles to its ambulance fleet, including some of the world’s fastest rescue cars, said Khalifa bin Drai, Dubai Ambulance’s executive director.
At the Dubai International Ambulance Conference, Mr bin Drai said each of the new rescue cars can carry two paramedics to emergencies. The vehicles are equipped with defibrillators, CPR equipment, blood pressure and diabetes monitors and various medications for injuries and fractures.
The vehicles can reach patients in half the time conventional ambulances can, The National’s Arabic-language sister newspaper, Aletihad, reported.
The world’s fastest rescue car, a Mustang, was on display at the conference.
