Berri also highlighted the significance of the conference in support of Palestine, saying, “Unfortunately, after the occupation of Palestine by the Zionists in 1948, we have forgotten our first Qibla and political Qibla.”
Palestine can serve as a means of convergence among the Muslims, he said, adding that all the efforts to create division among the Arabs or Muslims are solely aimed at ensuring Israeli interests.
He also hoped that the conference will bear fruitful results so that it will help forge proximity between Iran and its neighbors.
Lebanese Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri said that sowing discord among Muslims and Arabs is just meant to ensure Israeli interests.
He also thanked Iran for its assistance to the Resistance Movement which helped it achieve victories.
Berri arrived in Tehran late on Monday to attend the Sixth International Conference on Supporting Palestine Intifada. He was welcomed by First Vice Speaker Masoud Pezeshkian and a number of MPs.
The Sixth International Conference on Supporting Palestine Intifada will be held in the capital city Tehran on February 21-22.
