A Saudi soldier was killed in a fire exchange between the Saudi army and Houthi rebels in the bordering Jazan region, Saudi Interior reported on Thursday.
A border outpost in Jazan came under heavy fire by Houthi elements from inside the Yemeni territories, Saudi interior ministry said, according to Saudi Press Agency (SPA).
The Saudi army retaliated at the source of fire, engaging in a fire exchange with the Houthis, which resulted in the death of Saudi Border Guard Corporal Mohammad Musa Hassan Maher.
Afterwards, the Saudi army took charge of the situation with a support from ground forces.
