Ankara will not recognize the new government formed by the Houthis in Yemen, the Turkish Foreign Ministry said on Thursday.
The formation of a “national salvation” government in Yemen is “illegitimate,” the ministry statement added.
It is clear that this illegitimate structure will not contribute to the efforts to find a lasting political solution to the problem in Yemen through the UN, the ministry noted.
The Houthis and allied forces of former President Ali Abdullah Saleh unilaterally announced in Sanaa on Monday the formation of a “national salvation” government.
