Memorial statue of the two Russian doctors, killed in a terrorist shelling which targeted a medical center in Aleppo city, was unveiled on Wednesday.
Aleppo Governor Hussein Diab stressed that the blood of Syrians and Russians has mixed on the Syrian territory to protect the entire world from the threat of terrorism, adding that the statue pays tribute to the two doctors as well as everyone who sacrificed himself for the sake of the homeland.
He added that Aleppo is about to declare victory on terrorism and its supporters thanks to the blood of the martyrs and the bravery of the Syrian army, the backup forces and friendly countries.
Head of Hmeimim-based Russian Coordination Center, Lieutenant General Vladimir Savchenko hailed the heroism of the Syrian army that has been fighting terrorism for more than five years to preserve Syria’s territorial integrity.
Early December, terrorist organizations targeted with a rocket shell a Russian mobile hospital in al-Furqan neighborhood in Aleppo city, claiming the lives of two Russian doctors and injuring others including a journalist.
