Some of the biggest global names in the luxury yachting industry dropped anchor at Lusail City’s Mourjan Marina as the 2016 Qatar International Boat Show (QIBS) welcomed visitors to the opening launch of the four-day long event, running from December 7-10.

This is the fourth annual edition of QIBS, one of the Middle East’s premiere yachting lifestyle events. With 53 different international marine and nautical brands represented at QIBS this year, one of its major highlights is the Silver Fast Super Yacht from German yachting consultancy Behnemar and designed by Espen Oenio. At 77 metres and with a top speed of 29 knots, it’s the world’s largest and fastest aluminum motor yachts.

Last year, luxury sales at QIBS were valued at over the QR 80 million mark, with organizers hoping to build upon that figure for 2016.
