Tourist arrivals from Iran to Azerbaijan have increased by 58 percent this year, said Azerbaijan’s Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Nazim Samadov.
The number of tourists coming to Azerbaijan from Russia and Kazakhstan has also gone up by 7.1 and 15.8 percent respectively, the deputy minister said addressing a presentation of ASAN Visa portal in Baku Dec. 16.
According to him, nearly 70 percent of tourists come to Azerbaijan from the countries that have a visa-free access.
The number of visitors to Azerbaijan from European countries is increasing after the application of e-visa system, the deputy minister said, adding. “Our main goal is to create conditions for visa issuance not only at international airports, but also at all state border checkpoints.”
