USA: Saudi student wasn’t alone hours before his death

It appears that Hussain Saeed Alnahdi, a University of Wisconsin-Stout student from Saudi Arabia who died of his injuries after he was attacked last Sunday, was not alone an hour before his death.

Cameras on the busy street in front of Topper’s Pizza caught the crime in action.

Alnahdi was among his friends in a nearby coffee shop on the same street.

Police said that witnesses were also in the area at the time of the crime.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Sharourah governorate Ibrahim Bin Atif Al-Shihri attended the funeral prayer on Sunday for Alnahdi, Saudi Press Agency (SPA) reported.

Following funeral prayer, the Governor offered condolences on behalf of Prince Juluwi Bin Abdulaziz Bin Musaed, Emir of Najran Province, to Alnahdi’s father and family.

The deceased’s father expressed thanks to the Emir of the region for the care and attention he has provided to the student’s family since the confirmation of their son’s death.

Alnahdi, who was a student in the University of Wisconsin-Stout, was assaulted by an unknown assailant last week.

Officers found Alnahdi unconscious and bleeding from his mouth and nose before he was hospitalized and died from his injuries.

Alnahdi was initially taken to Mayo Clinic Health System in Menomonie, and then airlifted to Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Alnahdi, 24, was a junior majoring in business administration who enrolled in 2015 at UW-Stout, according to a statement from the university, whose campus is in Menomonie.

The FBI has joined the investigation into the death of Alnahdi. Police have not made any arrests, and have not been able to confirm if Alnahdi’s death outside Toppers Pizza was a hate crime, Menomonie Police Chief Eric Atkinson was quoted as saying.

Two reward funds totaling $20,000 have been established for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Alnahdi’s assailant. A memorial fund also has been set up by the university’s foundation.
