President Rouhani made the remarks on Sunday during a cabinet session on Sunday when he introduced Zahra Ahmadipour as new head of the Cultural Heritage, Handcrafts and Tourism Organization.
President Rouhani said that appointment of Ahmadipour to the new post comes in line with the government policies to enhance participation of women in managerial posts.
Ahmadipour replaces Masoud Soltanifar, who following winning a vote of confidence from the Iranian parliament on Tuesday, became the new Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs.
She holds a PhD in geopolitics, an MS in geography and urban planning as well as a BS in geography.
She is an assistant professor of Geography Department at Tarbiat Modares University and Director General of the Interior Ministry’s administrative division office.
