The terrorists sustained heavy casualties in the Syrian army’s offensive on their positions in Damascus countryside.
The army units also continued to march on the terrorists’ positions in other provinces across Syria.
Syrian Army soldiers struck the terrorist groups’ concentration centers and gatherings in Eastern and Western Ghouta, inflicting tens of casualties on the militants, a field sources said Tuesday.
“Syrian army men have continued their attacks on militant groups from Tal al-Sawan and have thus far retaken control over several farms and settlements in Eastern Ghouta, but terrorist-planted landmines on their way have slowed down their movement,” the sources said.
“The army soldiers, meantime, have attacked terrorist centers near the town of Hosh al-Salehiyeh and its surrounding areas in al-Marj region in Eastern Ghouta,” the source added.
“In Western Ghouta, the terrorist groups’ gatherings and positions along a road connecting Zakiyeh to Khan al-Sheih camp have come under heavy attack by the Syrian army and popular forces, inflicting major losses on the militants,” the source went on to say.
The Syrian Air Force, for its part, launched a massive bombing campaign on the positions of the terrorist groups in Tal al-Sawan, Hosh Nasri and Hosh al-Fareh in Eastern Ghouta.
Reports said earlier on Tuesday that Syrian Army troops are engaged in tough battle with Jeish al-Islam terrorists in the Eastern side of the strategic town of al-Reihan in Eastern Ghouta.
“Clashes in al-Reihan started after the Syrian government forces repelled Jeish al-Islam’s offensives in al-Reihan farms, and killed, at least, 10 and wounded 15 other terrorists in a rapid counterattack,” the sources said.
“Syrian army soldiers and popular forces continued to hit Jeish al-Islam terrorist and stormed their strongholds in the town of al-Reihan in a pursuing move,” they added.
“An intense battle is now underway in the Eastern side of al-Reihan,” the sources went on to say.
The sources said the government troops have since kept up the momentum and intensified offensive operations, but there is still no confirmed report indicating that they have entered the town.
Aleppo
The Syrian Army and popular forces engaged in tough battle with Jeish al-Fatah in Aleppo’s Southwestern districts and its Northern countryside, opposition sources said minutes ago, adding that Syrian fighter jets have been pounding militants’ centers across the province on Tuesday.
“Syrian government forces stormed Jeish al-Fatah’s positions in Housing Project 1070, near al-Ramouseh’s Southern corridor, inflicting major casualties on the militants,” the sources said, adding, “Should the Syrian soldiers capture the project 1070, they will enter simply the militant-held areas in all the Southern and Eastern parts of Aleppo city.”
“In the meantime, the Syrian army and Liwa al-Quds fighters have continued their attacks on Jeish al-Fatah’s positions in the Handarat Palestinian Refugees Camp too,” they added.
“The Syrian fighter jets have launched heavy air assaults on militants’ positions in Dar al-Ezzah, Qabtan al-Jabal, Kafr Hamra, Anadan and Hayyan,” the sources went on to say.
Earlier on Tuesday, pro-government troops pushed terrorists back in a Central neighborhood Northwest of the ‘Citadel of Aleppo’.
Syrian government forces, after hours of intense battle, inflicted a heavy death toll on the terrorists and seized full control over al-Farafareh neighborhood.
The Syrian army’s engineering units have launched an operation to defuse mines and explosive devices planted by the militants in residential and shopping areas.
Idlib
Syrian warplanes staged heavy airstrikes on terrorist-held regions in Northwestern Idlib province, slowing down the terrorists’ movements.
The Syrian fighter jets bombed militants’ centers in Saraqib in Southeastern Idlib, while the country’s choppers targeted their gatherings in Skeik in the Southern parts of the province.
Terrorists’ sites in Khan Sheikhoun, al-Tamanna, al-Habit and Arnabiyeh also came under the heavy airstrikes of the Syrian army aircraft.
The Army soldiers also stormed militants’ bases in Jisr al-Shughour in Southern Idlib, inflicting major losses on their hardware.
Deir Ezzur
Syrian warplanes staged heavy airstrikes on terrorist-held regions in Eastern Deir Ezzur province, slowing down the terrorists’ movements.
ISIL’s defense lines near Deir Ezzur airbase, al-Thardah mountain and at the Southern entrance of Deir Ezzur city were hit hard in Syrian air attacks.
Lattakia
Syrian army troops, meantime, shelled terrorist’s concentration centers in al-Tafahiyeh, Tal al-Ghazal, Ein al-Hour and Kabani in Northeastern Lattakia.
Quneitra
Syrian Army troops drove back terrorist groups from the surrounding areas of a key hilltop in Northern Quneitra, inflicting heavy casualties on the terrorists.
The army soldiers stormed the terrorist groups’ defense lines near al-Hamriyeh hilltop and pushed the militants back from part of the battlefield.
Terrorists, in a retaliatory move, shelled residential areas in the village of al-Hader, destroying the villagers’ houses.
