Khalid Mohamed Sharif Al Awadhi, Executive Director of Food Safety Department at Dubai Municipality, has won the International Leadership Award for Food Protection 2016.

He was honoured in St. Louis, Missouri, US, at the annual conference, in the presence of over 2, 000 participants, including food experts. The conference has been hosted by the Assembly for more than 100 years.

Al Awadhi was nominated for this award in recognition of his effective role and leadership in the development of food safety systems in Dubai. He is the first official in the Middle East to win this award. This achievement reflects Dubai’s role in supporting excellence, development and creativity at all levels.

He stated that this honour would be an incentive for even more distinguished initiatives.
