Terrorist groups breached the cessation of hostilities agreement in Syria three times during the past 24 hours in Damascus and its countryside, raising the total number of breaches to 643, the Russian Coordination Center said.
The cessation of hostilities agreement, which came into effect in Syria since 27 February in implementation of UN Security Council resolution 2268, does not include Jabhat al-Nusra, ISIS and other groups listed by the UN as terrorist organizations.
The center, based in Hmeimim airbase, added in a statement on Tuesday that terrorists of the so-called Jaish al-Islam targeted military positions in the two neighborhoods of Jobar and al-Midan and Erbin town in Damascus province with mortar rounds.
The center said the cessation of hostilities agreement is holding in most Syrian areas, as the number of towns which have joined the cessation of hostilities agreement reached 138.
It pointed out that Jabhat al-Nusra terrorists continue attempts to foil the agreement, as they targeted military positions and residential neighborhoods and villages in Lattakia, Idleb, Hama, Damascus and Aleppo provinces with mortars, cannons, artillery and rocket launchers.
